Situated within an historic building, and with much expensive and sensitive equipment, the Otago District Health Board is passionate about the upkeep of the Oamaru Hospital.
National Decorators are contracted to provide the long term maintenance of this facility and each year we undertake a series of proactive tasks to ensure the long term protection of the assets.
In 2009, while carrying out our maintenance inspections our team successfully identified and rectified damage to the building, thus saving the $20,000 radiology unit from damage!National Decorators have run a maintenance program on the Oamaru Hospital over the last five years. Their scope of work includes painting of all hospital building exterior surfaces as well as roof maintenance including clearing of all guttering and ongoing gutter guard replacement as required.
We have been very impressed with the professionalism with which work has been undertaken. Maintenance happens automatically, enabling our staff to focus on what they do best and most importantly our entire property looks exceptional from year to year.
Using National Decorators has saved us significant money on maintenance. In 2009 their maintenance report identified and rectified the risk of leaks in the radiology department with the potential to cause thousands of dollars of damage. Again in 2012 their reporting identified that the Coloursteel roofs were failing enabling us to place a claim just within the warranty period.
I would recommend this program to any person that is serious about protecting their facilities and keeping them looking presentable. We have confirmed this by committing to a further 5 year agreement with National Decorators.

Richard has been the General Manager of National Decorators for the past 5 years developing the company in the property and construction markets. Working off the base of a 100+ year old legacy, he has refined the company from a family business to be the leading painting company in the country. Some key developments have been in the integration of significant IT systems to increase the customer experience and enhance efficiency. Another big focus was reshaping the culture of the onsite teams to reflect the company in the best possible way.
Richard also leads a sales and marketing team of 7 staff, pushing into new markets and developing new services for our customers. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife Jenny and 2 young girls, as well as joining in community events.
